Beschreibung des Workshops 
Dr. Florian Schuberth will give a workshop on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) also known as Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). SEM is a modeling framework widely used not only in business and social sciences such as marketing, communication, operations management, and information systems but also in agricultural sciences, medicine, and environmental sciences. It emerged from path analysis, factor analysis and principal component analysis and is used for modeling and testing theories. One of SEM’s key benefits is its ability to deal with latent variables - variables that are not observed directly but inferred from observed variables such as intelligence or customer satisfaction. The aim of the workshop is to introduce SEM and PLS-PM, the latter is a frequently used estimator in SEM. The workshop will start with the basics and demonstrates the method’s practical application using ADANCO and the R package cSEM. The following topics will be covered during the workshop: 

•    Introduction to SEM and PLS-PM
•    Beliefs, misunderstandings, and what’s new in SEM using PLS-PM
•    Model specification and estimation
•    Model assessment
•    Mediation analysis
