Prof. Dr.Kenneth Kent obtained his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Victoria (Canada)and his B.Sc. from Memorial University (Canada). He is a professor in the Faculty of Computer Science, Barrett Chair in Entrepreneurship for Digital Transformation and Director of the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies – Atlantic at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton, Canada). He is also an honorary professor at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. In addition to his academic career, Dr. Kent is a Co-Founder of anessa Inc. where he has filled roles as Chief Product Officer and Vice-President Funding & Investments. Dr. Kent is also a registered professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick. His research interests include high-performance/cloud computing, embedded systems, software engineering, and managed runtimes. He has been engaged in many industrial partnerships including IBM, Google, RedHat and Huawei where he has supervised many graduate students. This work has contributed to several disclosures & patents, and over 200 academic publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
