How to develop your research proposal

Description

A research proposal describes the content as well as the timetable of the planned scientific work. It is therefore considered the basis for communication about your scientific project. However, it might also be needed in order to apply for a research grant or a PhD scholarship.  Ideally, it helps to evaluate if the project is well planned, background material has been sufficiently researched and finally if the realization sounds feasible.

The workshop will elaborate on:

  • content of a research proposal
  • structure of a research proposal
  • state of the art
  • material and methods
  • expected results
  • project and time plan

Target group

This module targets scientists and in particular PhD students of all departments who are in the preparation stage of their research topic. It is open both to H-BRS PhD students and to members of PK NRW from other universities of apllied sciences. A research proposal is the result of a planning and preparation phase during the composition of a scientific publication such as a PhD thesis.
